Reporting Analyst

The Reporting Analyst is responsible for Executive IT reporting and dashboard needs including analysis, design, report development and delivery using MicroStrategy. The Analyst solicits design requirements from leadership and facilitates discussions, fosters design progress, performs demos on design and ensures feasibility of design on the MicroStrategy platform by working closely with the architect. They are a highly motivated, creative and versatile power user on the MicroStrategy platform with experience designing dashboards that are interactive and operational reports that execute efficiently and provide accuracy. The Analyst serves as the subject matter expert on all IT metrics and will perform a support role if issues are raised. 


• Supports and maintains IT management and operational dashboards, metrics documentation, and reports
• Supports the development of small scale dashboards and reports using the Microstrategy report builder
• Partners with IT management data custodians to understand IT management and operational dashboards and reports and be effective at making change recommendations (IT Management and Operational Microstrategy Power User)
• Evaluates, analyzes and produces data findings narratives for all IT management reports, including financial, operational, project, and administrative
• Contributes to the automation of IT management and operational dashboards and reports
• Collect, validate, analyze, and organize various data reports and summarize into a weekly IT management report
• Plans, creates, maintains, and improves existing and new IT management reporting solutions
• Maintains familiarity with IT operational, software development life-cycle, governance, risk and compliance, and security data
• Consults with internal customers to understand their report requirements and provide comprehensive and meaningful solutions to address their needs
• Makes timely recommendations to effectively solve problems, using independent judgment consistent with IT data standards, practices, policies, and/or procedures
• Demonstrates creative and critical thinking by proactively searching for ways to automate, improve and streamline processes, build team collaboration and value for our internal customers
• Documents IT management and operational dashboards and reports requirements
• Imports, exports, queries, and migrates data
• Delivers lasting win-win solutions between Governance and other teams, to increase customer satisfaction, decrease costing and improve services.

Job Requirements

• Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Finance or General Business strongly preferred
• 3-5 years in a position directly responsible for the development of associated report generation, management and dissemination of IT metrics.
• Reporting creation experience with Microstrategy v10 preferred Understanding of SQL programming language.
• Experience in challenging customer service roles a plus.
• ITIL Foundations certified preferred
• Working knowledge of project coordination and management, the SDLC, and general IT project and service offerings.
• Working knowledge of statistics and program evaluation techniques and processes. 
• Proficiency with MSOffice Suite
• Knowledge of Clarizen and Footprints a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate data and present data that drive improvements.
• Ability to work in a demanding and high paced environment of technology solutions to do work (i.e., IM, Video Conferencing, Live Meeting, etc.).
• Self-starter, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently to support your clients, as well as work collaboratively. 
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Independent thinking, along with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong analytical and statistical analysis skills.
